Voluntary Action Shetland (VAS) and the Shetland Care Attendant Scheme (SCAS) are pleased to announce that the carers advice, support, and information service will transfered from the VAS Shetland Carers project to SCAS this month.
The Shetland Befriending Scheme has recently transitioned to become an independent charity, separating from Voluntary Action Shetland. This move marks a significant milestone for the organisation after being part of Voluntary Action Shetland for 25 years.

Along with other Third Sector Interface’s throughout Scotland, Voluntary Action Shetland distributed a 5th year of the Scottish Government Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund for Adults to support community activity until March 2027. Shetland’s initial allocation for year 5 totalled £71,522.
