Third Sector Organisations – Opening Information Over the Festive Period 2025

Ability Shetland

Ability Shetland will be closing on Tuesday 23rd December and will re-open on Monday 5th January 2026.

Alzheimer Scotland - Shetland

Alzheimer Scotland Shetland will be closing at 4.30pm on Friday 19th December and will re-open at 9am on Wednesday 7th January 2026.

British Red Cross

British Red Cross will be available throughout the festive as the service is First Response.

Shetland Islands Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB)

SICAB will be closing on Tuesday 23rd December and will re-open on Monday 5th January 2026.

CLAN Cancer Support

Clan will be closing after their last drop-in and appointment day on Monday 22nd December and will re-open on Monday 5th January 2026.

Compass Centre (Shetland Rape Crisis)

The Compass Centre will be closing on Friday 19th December and will re-open on Monday 5th January 2026.

COPE Ltd

COPE Ltd will be closing at 1pm on the 24th December and will re-open at 9am on Tuesday 6th January 2026.

Mind Your Head

Mind Your Head will be closing on Wednesday 24th December and will re-open on Monday 5th January 2026.

Moving On Employment Project

MOEP will be closing on Tuesday 23rd December and will re-open on Monday 5th January 2026.

OPEN

OPEN will be closing on Thursday 18th December and will re-open on Monday 5th January 2026.

Relationships Scotland -Shetland

RSS will be closing at 2pm on Wednesday 24th December and will re-open at 9am on Monday 5th January 2026.

Royal Voluntary Service – RVS

RVS will be closing on Monday 22nd December and will re-open on Monday 5th January 2026. No RVS services will be available during this time.

Samaritans Shetland

Samaritans do not close over the festive period and are available 24/7 day and night by calling the Samaritans Free Phone line 116 123. This includes Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

Shetland Befriending Scheme

SBS will be closing at 4pm on Friday 19th December and will re-open on Monday 5th January 2026.

Shetland Bereavement Support Services

SBSS will be closing on Tuesday 23rd December and will re-open on Monday 5th January 2026.

Life After Loss Group Drop In – Monday 29th December - 11.30am-12.30pm - Conference room, Market House, 14 Market Street, Lerwick – Please use the blue door on Harbour Street as the main reception will be closed.

Shetland Community Benefit Fund

SCBF will be closing on Friday 19th December and will re-open on Monday 5th January 2026.

Shetland Community Bike Project

SCBP will be closing on Monday 22nd December and will re-open on Wednesday 7th January 2026.

Shetland Care Attendants Scheme (SCAS)

The SCAS office will be closing at 2pm on Wednesday 24th December and will re-open on Monday 5th January 2026 at 9am.

During this period, SCAS will still be available by telephone for anyone we are currently supporting on 01595 743931.

Shetland Community Connections

SCC will be closing at 2pm on Wednesday 24th December and will re-open at 9am on Monday 5th January 2026.

Shetland Foodbank

The Shetland Foodbank will be closing at 4pm on Monday 22nd December and will re-open on Monday 5th January.

During the closed period, support agencies can reach the emergency contact on 07517684451.

Shetland Sands

Shetland Sands will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Messages & emails will be monitored regularly throughout the festive period.

Shetland Woman’s Aid

Voluntary Action Shetland

VAS & Market House will be closing at 2pm on Wednesday 24th December and will re-open at 9am on Monday 5th January 2026.

Victim Support

Victim Support Shetland currently have no staff based in Shetland from the week beginning 22nd December until further notice, so in the meantime please contact the Inverness office for any queries by emailing: [email protected]
