TSI Learning Portal - Access essential online training to run your group when and where you choose.
Running community groups, voluntary organisations, charities and social enterprises is not as simple as getting a few like-minded people together doing what you agree on. There are rules, regulations and best practices along with societal expectations, which are ever changing. It is not enough to simply pick things up as you go and ignorance is no defence when things go wrong.
Those new to this, need to quickly acquire the necessary skills and knowledge. Those who have experience, need to keep up to date with change. Both face challenges with finding time and money to access the training that they need.
VAS is delighted to promote the TSI Learning Portal. The portal provides this essential training for those who run community groups, voluntary organisations, charities and social enterprises across Scotland and does so at no/low cost. There are practical guides to topics like GDPR, Managing Challenging Behaviours, and Food Safety, as well as introductions to financial management and regulatory requirements.

The Portal will equip boards of trustees, committee members, other volunteers, and staff, with the knowledge and skills to manage their organisations effectively. It also allows them to access training materials at their own pace from their preferred location.
Importantly, it has been created by the sector, for the sector, and will evolve to meet ever changing demands.
The TSI Learning Portal currently has a range of e-learning courses of which some are free to access. There are also two suites of materials in the portal which, if groups are a member of Voluntary Action Shetland, they can access FREE OF CHARGE.
Members of Voluntary Action Shetland can get in touch with staff at VAS to receive the discount code to enjoy free access to these two courses below:
